People walk through HELP’s doors every day seeking assistance due to illness, aging or physical limitations. Our ability to help them depends entirely on donations of gently used medical equipment and supplies.
We currently are experiencing a serious shortage of wheelchairs – manual and transport – as well as hospital beds. Our wheelchair inventory has fallen by nearly two-thirds since May (when spring cleaning boosts donations) and only 10 hospital beds are available.
You can help make the holidays merrier for those in need by donating either of these items, or other medical equipment such as shower chairs, Hoyer lifts and bath transfer benches. We also welcome donations of health supplies, including adult briefs, feeding tube bags and pumps, and glucometers, as well as nutritional supplements.
Plus, our environmentally friendly recycling program diverts thousands of pieces of medical equipment from landfills annually!
Drop off your donation to HELP at the Center Mall, 1941 So. 42nd St., Suite 200, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., M-F. Delivery and pick-up of larger items is available for the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area and nearby communities, with a very reasonable fee for the service based on round-trip mileage.
